According to article 51 of the FIFA Statutes, the FIFA Audit and Compliance Committee advises, assists and oversees the Council in monitoring FIFA’s financial and compliance matters, and monitors compliance with the FIFA Governance Regulations.

The committee furthermore monitors FIFA’s financial and compliance matters including, in particular, the distribution and flow of development-related funds, and suggests to the appropriate FIFA bodies any action that it deems necessary as a result of such monitoring.

Their terms last four years, beginning at the end of the Congress which has elected them. The chairperson, deputy chairperson and other members of the Audit and Compliance Committee may only be relieved of their duties by the Congress.
